Vayedaber Adonay el-Moshe lemor. Tsav et-Aharon ve’et-banav lemor zot torat ha’olah hi ha’olah al mokedah al-hamizbe’ach kol-halaylah ad-haboker ve’esh hamizbe’ach tukad bo.
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying: Command Aaron and his sons thus: This is the ritual of the burnt offering: The burnt offering itself shall remain where it is burned upon the altar all night until morning, while the fire on the altar is kept going on it.
Anointed One: We read In Vayikra 8:6-10 “Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water. He put the coat on him, tied the sash on him, clothed him with the robe, put the ephod on him, and he tied the skillfully woven band of the ephod on him, and fastened it to him with it. He placed the breastplate on him; and in the breastplate he put the Urim and the Thummim. He set the turban on his head; and on the turban, in front, he set the golden plate, the holy crown; as the LORD commanded Moses. Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and sanctified them”.
Aaron was anointed as Cohen Gadol Vayikra 8:12 “He poured some of Hamishcha (the anointing) oil on Aaron’s head, and anointed him, to sanctify him”. The following Midrash speaks of The Anointed one of God – HaMashiach – who will ultimately save and redeem His brothers from all sin. We know His name is “Salvation” Yeshua the Goel (redeemer) spoken of by Moshe in Devarim 18:15-19. The drash uses a Hebrew word play that connects the Mishkan, the place where the Shechinah rested, to the annointed one in whom it would rest in the future. It ultimately points to one who thru His righteousness would be able to fulfill Yeshiyahu Navi’s account of Him in Isaiah 53:6.
Seeing in his spirit of prophesy that the time would come when the Mishkan (Tabernacle) would cease to exist and the Shechinah dwell no more in Israel’s midst, Moses was anxious to know by what means the sins of his people would then be expiated. The Almighty vouchsafed the information that He would choose a righteous man from their midst, and make him a mashkon (pledge) for them and through him their sins would be forgiven. [Exodus Rabbah 35]
Hashem loves us that much, that He indeed did send His prophet like Moshe, our Goel redeemer, HaMashiach Yeshua, and we obey Him because we love Him much.
Ahav V’shalom love and peace to our family in Messiah from Beth Hallel Lodi
