וְאָמַ֥ר סֹֽלּוּ־סֹ֖לּוּ פַּנּוּ־דָ֑רֶךְ הָרִ֥ימוּ מִכְשׁ֖וֹל מִדֶּ֥רֶךְ עַמִּֽי׃ {ס}   Isa.57:14

V’amar Sollu-Sollu Pannu-Darek Haremu Mikshol Midderek Ami

Build up, build up a highway! Clear a road! Remove all obstacles from the road of My people!

Here in the Haftara Yeshuyahu the navi mirrors the song of Moshe in this last weeks Parashat Ha’azinu: “Moses spoke in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished.” He instructed them thru the words of the song he gave to them (Deuteronomy 32:1-44) where he prophesies all that would come upon the nation, as a result of the covenant. Elohim keeps His word perfectly, and the curses are as much a testimony to His faithfulness as are the blessings. In the “Song of Moshe” we see that projected into the future generations who will be without strength and in Shuvah (repentance) cry out to Him. “For the LORD will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, There is none remaining, shut up or left at large.” (Deuteronomy 32:36) and then to that generation comes blessing, “Rejoice, you nations, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his servants. He will render vengeance to his adversaries, And will make expiation for his land, for his people” (Deuteronomy 32:43).

This year we have been witnesses to Hashem keeping His covenant promises to the tiny nation of Yisrael! he is indeed building up a highway and removing all obstacles from His beloved Israel and in the spirit of Teshuvah He is making a way where there seems to be no way! The promise still stands today – for today; Yeshiyahu 57:16 For I will not always contend, I will not be angry forever: Nay, I who make spirits flag, Also create the breath of life. Continuing the Adonai says 18&19 I note how they fare and will heal them:
I will guide them and mete out solace to them, And to the mourners among them, heartening, comforting words: It shall be well, Well with the far and the near —said GOD— And I will heal them.

During this season of repentance leading up to Yom Kippur, we seek life and national blessing in the coming year. In repentance we cry out to Adonai to forgive our past, and make a way for us be near to Him, for life in, and with Him. We are encouraged when we see that Moshe ends the “Song” with a judgement of Adonai for His people. Chayim (Life) after Teshuvah is made from the heart, and they cry out. (Baruch Habah B’shem Adonai)    Finally Torah says “The LORD spoke to Moses that same day, saying, “Go up into this mountain of Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and see the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel for a possession; and die on the mountain where you go up, and be gathered to your people,”(Deuteronomy 32:48-50)

One day we will be singing the song of Moshe when our Yom Kippur sacrifice is complete in Mashiach. “They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God, the Almighty! Righteous and true are your ways, you King of the nations. Who wouldn’t fear you, Lord, and glorify your name? For you only are holy. For all the nations will come and worship before you. For your righteous acts have been revealed.” After these things I looked, and the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened.” (Revelation of Yeshua 15:3-5) It says the “Song of Moshe, and the Song of the Lamb” because they are one and the same, with the Yom Kippur blood of atonement provided by Adonai Himself. One redeemer (Moshe) gives the song and is taken away by death, the other (Yeshua) is taken away by death to provide the instrument from which the song will endure forever! The Holy of Holies is opened in Shabashamyeem when we sing the “Song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb” written for us thru redemption. The Heavens are listening for the words of our mouth.
